Inflation is a political choice, like everything else in economics. It's an instrument that is intended to worse that situation for most people. People doing well out to the cost of living crisis at the expense of everyone else who is not. If wages are not driving inflation, you can see this most obviously by the way. Inflation right now in this country is coming from big events in the rest of the world very largely. The price of food is rising rapidly, some 16 per cent year on year in the last month and is expected to carry on rising into the future.
