How to Increase Difficulty With Bodyweight Exercises

I thought it was really interesting with you saying you can use essentially gravity or an elevated platform like a chair to increase the difficulty of certain exercises. Now, is it just a matter of finding things to add weight to an exercise? I'm curious if there are other ways to progress with some of these exercises. You know, in other words, how do you make it harder without necessarily adding weight?
