Back in 1986, scientists warned that the ozone layer was developing a hole. The household chemicals causing the hold were chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) World leaders acted fast in the 1980s and 90s by banning CFCs from use. And the good news is, the hole in the ozone has been healing since the year 2000.
