1.2% of Norfolk Southern stock is owned by management, which raises the value of their own personal stake in the company and they get richer no matter how many people they kill. The industry has so successfully deregulated itself that it's now considered a tough regulation to require two people on mile plus long trains. I know I owe what they want and they don't care about safety. They care about the bottom line. That's the model.
