The Noir in the Western
The hero in the noir is always sort of an antihero, but he always has like some element of a code. And so there's a sort of playing with this notion of nihilism. In Blade Runner, Deckard by the end does not have any clear sense of what his moral duty is. This happens too with the, with the cowboy, I think the Western cowboy. He's writing off into the sunset to the next thing,. or he resigns himself to this sort of domestic life with like, you know, the woman he meets on the trail and it's unsatisfying in some way.
