Is 3D Printing a New Technology?

3D printing is not yet at the stage where it can like, you know, surpass the level of like cost effectiveness or surface quality as plastic injection molding for instance. So that may make a lot of sense where AI wouldn't be able to explore that, um, area of design. Cause it's not trained on it yet. But I don't think AI sure AI could look up images of 3D printed metal.
