The Importance of Taking a Stand

Ken Frazier: Sometimes, again, I go back to what I said, the long-term is composed of a series of short-term. If you say to your colleagues, we're going to be about R&D and you cut your R&D budget in a significant way, then you lose credibility. You lose trust with the scientists. And one of the most important decisions I had to make was to bring in Roger Perlmutter who became our head of research.
