How Many Hours Does It Take to Learn a Language?

We're looking at about 600 hours for the phonemic structure of the language to get formed in a person's brain. If I'm from Southern California and I'm learning Spanish, I don't think it takes 600 hours because I've probably already been exposed to hundreds of hours without even realizing it. So what we've found is people start speaking in terms of creating their own unique sentences at about 800 hours - so 800 hours for an English speaker learning Thai. How would you... Go ahead.
