If we're so smart, why haven't we done a better job solving political dysfunction? It's very possible that there is a decline in the Flynn effect or even a reversal of the Flynn effect. Compassion and social trust are much more necessary to add to the stew that intellect tends to dominate. The ability to live wisely isn't an abundant quality right now.
