Python could replace VBA as the Excel scripting language. There's a lot of excitement about it, but I don't know if that's really a good thing or not. It probably depends on the implementation and I'm not smart enough to understand how they would do it. You can embed like DLLs into Excel throughlike.net and then there's Python and SQL server.
