The word time isn't written anywhere inside the model. It's only written there in the picture we drew of the model to say that's the unit for the word time. And if somebody wants to tell me, how do you spell that word? You have to use the connections from that out to then get those letters, for example. Those are the units on the input that excite it when it's excited about a word. In a sense represents in the system that there's support for the hypothesis that the word time is present in the input.
