Strategic Arms Control - The Soviet Union

After the partial testpan treaty, the us. and soviet unions had realized that some controls were needed to avoid accidents or awar across the arms rays. Salt one is the strategic arms limitation talks, which was initiated in 19 69. And then after salt one, in 19 when the carter administration came into power, jimmy carter had even greater ideas about where to take arms control forward. Unfortunately, the soviet union took a very bad action and invaded afghanistan in 19 79. This was this coincident with the time when the united states had to ratify o the salt to agreement in congress.
