API Attacks Are on the Rise, Right?

API traffic has increased 681% since last year. 77% of retailers are reporting API security incident in 2021. It may be possible for adversaries to query the back end database over API without even having to authenticate. Using tools like Burp Suite or OWAS, an attacker could automate the testing, identification and validation of upload based vulnerabilities right through the API endpoints.
