In a detailed commentary, that sort of thing is often going to be almost lost among the details, isn't it? But in a work like this, it can really just shine out and as you say, it can have a kind of cumulative force to it. And I just find that that whole view of things has some nuance which I find very helpful. You know, it is not that we can look and see everything getting better. At the same time, everything's not getting worse. If we kind of pull back, there is this direction of travel that we can observe.
