A meta analysis from 2017 that Schoenfeld did on training volume. 10 to 20 sets is the optimal number of sets per muscle group. But if you do one to four sets per week, that gets you about 65% of the gains. And if you do five to nine sets, that get you about 85% of the gain. You can literally do a third or 50% of the volume that they're recommending in this meta and get almost all of the results.
