The Lodge Coupled Limit of String Theory
There's a parometer that is constant in the theory. You can find this solution of the theory for any value of the parometer. For one value, it looks like a black hole. And when you vary it back to the regime in which it lookslike a black hole, you find that it matches the beckenstein hawking antredby. It's a ordinary quantum system. Can describe it, and you can compute exactly how many microstates it has. As you vary this perimeter, that number of microstates is kind of topological and variant and can't change.
