Contaminated Evidence

The detectives investigate a truck that was deliberately set up to be stolen, but find it wiped down and containing only a boat trailer, a plastic fork, and a piece of gum. They send the fork and gum for DNA testing and discover the boat trailer was registered to someone else who reveals that the suspect purchased the boat using cash. The chapter ends with the question of whether the suspect escaped on a jet ski.
