The Ukrainians and the Russians in the Face of the VKS

Western air defenses are not really a solution because of low numbers. A small number of fighters could have a huge impact in terms of buying out some of that risk from the VKS becoming a dominant battle-sealed shaping influence as SAM ammunition continues to run lower. The Russians have been very cautious in the air. They learn lessons, they adapt quicker and more responsibly than the ground forces or the navy.
