The word neo-Calvinism first gets used in the 1880s. This movement that's happening, it's codified in Boving's 1892 publication of the Reform Dogmatics. So they were trying to be contextual theologians and ask what it looks like to be both Orthodox, Reformed Orthodox, and modern at the same time.
