Why Is Rational Inattention So Important?
There is always an amount of information being ignored because there is such a breadth of information that we receive through our senses. And this is really where the rational inattention theory comes to play, which posits that rational inattentive agents choose to ignore some pieces of information in order to focus on what is more important. It's kind of not intuitive on first look but when you consider this limited budget for processing information, then it's all timd makes more sense.
