The Importance of Attention Capture
In principle why would our phones technology and advertising be able to effectively capture our attention? I guess it's implicit in what you've just said isn't it? Yeah it's an interesting facet about the way that our attention works so it's actually really important that we're open to this type of attention capture. So if people are listening to your podcast maybe trying to ignore plain noise or something that's going on which is a potential auditory distraction. It's important that they're able to do that to some extent but if the auditory distraction changes to be something like a fire alarm then they need to be able to have noticed that.
