Jack and Pam quickly learned that there were a lot of rules about filming in the jungle. The best thing about working in the Philippines was the costs. In terms of time, your number of days is the most expensive item in a budget shooting normally. You've got all the time you want to do anything. So I was able to really do a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have been able to do on a tight schedule. It gave Pam that edge. She also had discipline. She prepared late into the night, studying lines and thinking about how she'd approach a scene. That combination eventually catapulted Pam from obscurity to start of them.
