The Starse and Frauka
Frauka's cousin had applied to the authorities for permission to emigrate to west germany. This was deeply insulting to the east german state, and the stasi wanted frauke to persuade her to go. They turned up while she was at work and said, come with us ad inter. She had no idea whether we're taking her. But actually only i didn't really have to lie. I told her that it wouldn't be as easy as she thought. And in terms of a job, well, she wasn't going to find anything as good right away.
