The Tomb of Tuttant Carmen
Thomas Hooving was the director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He pushed ahead with logistics, planning and commercial side of Tuttant Carmen in 1970s. The reason ultimately for touring objects from the Tomb of Tuttan Carmen was to raise publicity,. but also to raise funds for the so-called Nubian Rescue campaign. To increase publicity and to raise funds it was decided there would be this tour. It was also a way of you know using soft power as an ambassador for Egyptian culture.
