The US Army's Light War in the Jungle
There were smart people in positions of influence in the 60s who did clearly identify. The fact that this was going to be very tough and that that kind of war in the jungle against guerrillas might well not suit Americans. One of the key things is democracy's light wars to be over quick. But now I am impressed by the number of smart people, some of them in uniform who clearly saw.
