Pope Francis's Reforms Are Not an End Unto Itself
The vatican bank has a history of being involved in shady stuff, and at worst, absolute corupt stuff. The aim of reform is not aesthetic, an effort to improve the looks of the curia, the church's governing body. Pope francis received that task very explicitly from the cardinals of the conclave. And in these eight years, he hasn't done that. But pofrancis is is 84. His health is not that great, and so there are concerns that if this overall of the vatican is further delayed, it could come late for this pope, francis, to oversee the beginning of this new structuref of the v Vatican.
