The Kolevadi Movement

St Theodore ferociously fought for monasticism to embed itself in every aspect of culture. He preached the absolute necessity of urban monasticism over desert life. His monastery at its peak had 800 monks inside of it. The formation of Mount Athos beginning with St. Peter the Athanae and Athanasius the Athanaes became a major influence in the Christian life. And most notably gave birth to St. Nicodemus in the Kolevadi movement.
