The Importance of Evidence in Addiction Cases
Don't report these people to the police even if they've stolen opiates you know from from work or propofol from the operating theatre. There's enough to deal with with guilt shame and threat of losing your job, going to court for the police who don't understand addiction is stressful on top of it. Any doctor who appears in court i think someone else said um is automatically reported to the GMC so that brings that forward. You can't then benefit from the memorandum that practitioner health hasUm or human resources because they treat you as a disciplinary problem and not a health problem. Is there any role for occupational occupational health in these situations?
