How to Write a Longer Piece Than a Shorter Piece

In school, I expanded all my contractions to meet the word count. It's way easier to write a longer piece than it is a shorter piece. You know, like people are writing more on LinkedIn and Twitter though,. That actually probably is a very good forcing function to create more succinct, concise writing. So it's teaching teaching a whole generation of people how to do effective copywriting.
