The Archaic Definition of Humiliation
In the incarnation, he is born under the law and he takes on human flesh. The language of humiliated himself comes off a little differently in my mind. I think what we must first recognize is our world is a world without shame currently at different times and at different points. So that humbling, that lowering is a real lowering for especially one who came from such height. And so it's not a bad thing to be humble or to be contrite because Christians are connected with Christ by this connection.
