The idea that IGF-1 is a negative influence as it relates to protein intake is not supported. The other thing is when we think about IGF-1, you have to think about insulin and carbohydrates. And obesity is driving those numbers up. It is not a primary protein intake issue. So, no, IGF-1 related to protein intake and longevity, I do not believe is an issue. A better marker to address and discuss is MTOR or rapamycin.
