We've learned to develop interventions like vaccines, drugs and diagnostics much more quickly than anybody expected. But equally importantly, every country in the world has learned that it might be valuable to learn how to lock down and close its borders. We have an early warning system that would have saved the lot of the world from a lot of deaths if it had been implemented very quickly last january and february. And governments around the world knew that it was part of their responsibility to be looking out for this and being prepared to lock downmuch more quickly than anybody actually did.
