I think non-believers, they can see that this idea of let's just vindicate the text and kind of ignore the community in which the text originally was given is quite thin and artificial. I always thought that the Catholic Church has a much more realistic view of the church community that extends throughout time. And so you are much more willing to squarely face all of the complications of the process that history and the church's community and the church fathers also talk about.
