The Prototypical Features of Deity
In the Garden of Eden story, there are two things that are provided by the trees. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is probably understood as a way to refer to full access to strategic information. And what does the other tree offer? Tree of life makes them live forever. In Genesis 3, 22, the deity says, Oh, shoot, they've become like one of us. Whoopsie. So now we got to kick them out more access to some of that knowledge. They set up a guard to prevent them from accessing the other prototypical feature of deity.
