Is Telly Really a Drama?
It is the most brilliantly produced drama, brilliantly written by Peter Morgan. It uses metaphor very largely, but it's like sometimes he is using the artistic technique of hyperrealism. The tableau is very dappled and you can't quite work it out. There was a time in the earlier series where I was very worried about being on air for the BBC, if anything happened to the Duke of Edinburgh. But an awful lot of people in the US do think this is absolutely reality. They're watching documentary, they're not watching drama.
