The Importance of a Protocol in the Age of Twitter

Twitter has been in a difficult spot. The original sin was like we had an opportunity to be a protocol, maybe we didn't have the opportunity. And I appreciate that we made that decision but don't necessarily agree with it. Twitter is overjoyed that this idea is finding root for things that I think become more and more fundamental to how we exist in this world.
