Introduction
The lake is bone dry, entirely evaporated. What remains is a hollow depression in the landscape. A tiny puddle persists at the very centre of the lake. The last fish alive, flapping helplessly in filthy liquid. I stoop down, cup it gently in my hands and gaze into the pinhole of its tiny black eye. It says: "It's hopeless. I am drowning in the air"
