The Reappointment of the Finance Minister

I was shocked and I was disappointed because I had hoped that the Minister of Finance would have taken nationals Christ for help a little bit more seriously. There is something special about the Reserve Bank and the way that politicians for the last 30 years have approached that in public. And so on July 26, when you came out with this proposal for an independent monetary policy inquiry, I suddenly realized, oh, this is really quite different. So what that represented was, I think, widespread questions across New Zealand communities about whether we got it right during COVID-19.
