There's the appeal of, ok, i don't want to only have one love in life. But there's also an element that this is a preferable way to be because it is more generous. I think that part of what you see throughout the book is how, no, what matters more is the dynamic. And really, if someone's controlling, they can use no menogamy to control you,. or they can use menogamous to control you. It's really the less that any relationship model is inherently more enlightened and more about the power dynamics that exist between individuals.
