The Importance of Space in Natural Gas Pipelines
The company was saying they'd put vell space every 20 miles, which is quite a distance in it at a line with that much pressure. When you've got a pipe that's two foot across and there's fluid moving through it stacked with 2,200 pounds of pressure,. It's moving all that fluid, all that gas has a lot of inertia. And if they just slam a valve shut, you know, that creates a pressure wave affecting that pipe that could blow something else out.
