You Can Never Have Enough of What You Don't Really Need
I was driven from a young age to prove myself to my dad. And so, and I got good at doing it from an unhealthy place. You can never have enough of what you don't really need. For me, I was just craving my father's approval and I didn't even need it. My dad passed away a few years ago. The number of people who said how proud my dad was of me. It really struck me in that moment. Even though I got it intellectually that I didn't need his approval, he'd always been proud of me. He runs a community called 4PC which stands for the 4% club.
