By the time they enter middle school, 70 % of kids have quit their sports team. In norway, there are no alite youth teams; that comes later and towards the middle and high school years. The goal is to develop and foster a love and intrinsic love of the sport in America. It selects for those who go through puberty early and are earlier developers than late bloomers.
