God Is Great Because Your Enemies Are Destroyed

This is an example of violence in the Bible and it raises some eyebrows. This caused a lot of consternation for one of my own children. She came home just very, very upset asking, you know, what kind of a God is this? I mean, aren't these God's children too? Why does God do stuff like this? See, this is how the might and power of God is expressed, again, in an ancient tribal context. Your God is great because your enemies are destroyed before you. How about just letting the sea close up so they can't cross? They drown. That's how the story goes.
