Is It Strategically Important?

Russia has taken 6,000 square kilometers of land from Ukraine. Is this a strategic gain or not? It was not thought to be strategic in the same sense as Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics or Oblasts regions. Harkov is more like, it's so of the three, it's the least important, I would say strategically.
