The far right AFD has done very well in state elections in the East this year. The party is trying to tap into a sense of grievance about the mixed legacy of reunification. I wonder if there is still a divide in terms of identity, do people still think of themselves as East Germans or West Germans? There's almost a sort of a psychoanalyticulical, which Angela Merkel has floated. And that's that if you compare what's happening in East Germany now to what happened in West Germany in 1968.
