The Clouds Are Not Divineniss Just This

In ancient Greece, there was a tension between religion and mathematics. The gods are immortal, but they are not eternal in the way that plato is trying to draw attention to these aspects of reality. And so you get simultaneously the sort of undermining of,. a bottom up undermining of the religion, the playwrights or correct you know, questioning certain things. And then you also get this sort of top down, from math, undermining of the notion of the gods. It's like the gods come into existence at one point, and maybe the'llttill keep on going, but they don't represent their timelessness and spacelessness.
