You Don't Look Like a Lawyer - Eunice Carter

Eunice Carter was the first Black woman to receive a law degree from Fordham University in 1932. She is also the first African-American woman to pass the New York State Bar. In 1935, Mayor LaGuardia set up a commission to investigate the Harlem race riots of 1935. Eunice Carter became the group's secretary and gathered masses of evidence that led to their final report.
