The Hero Role in Product Management
People like to feel valuable. It's really easy to kind of check that box for yourself by stepping into the hero role. Especially if you have management that's not watching out for it, that's not actively trying to keep it from happening or that doesn't even recognize it as a pathology. You can create sort of this situation if you're not careful where everybody on the team is kind of trying to out hero each other.
