Spooner had a difficult relationship with the law, and as I was telling you in earlier, he's not exactly a people person. One of his earliest and most famous examples to support himself financially was a company he founded in 1844 called the American Letter Mail Company. He worked briefly as a lawyer. It didn't work out too well for him. So this earned Spooner, the title, father of the three cents stamp.
