The Ultimate Author Is the Spirit of God

Ephesians 1 and the Patristics in defending their views were very articulate about using the New Testament to defend it. No text is autonomous, no text is independent, there's no unit of creation that is independent of God. So really they just had let's say probably a more pervasive picture of inspiration. They expected to see that everywhere because Ephesians 1 verse 10 that Christ is the ultimate mystery of God and all things cohere in him. And secondly building on that they then saw that scripture was ultimately inspired and written by the spirit not just by the human author.
